Tom Turner, 2014 San Diego Chapter President

As the incoming president of NAIOP San Diego for 2014, I would like to thank our members, sponsors and board of directors for your unwavering support and commitment. I look forward to working with all of you to further promote and develop the NAIOP San Diego chapter mission: to Network, Affect Public Policy, Initiate Business, Opine on Market Dynamics and Promote Giving Back to our Community.

               

In 2014, NAIOP San Diego will continue to be the premier commercial real estate organization by providing our members and sponsors with unparalleled networking and business opportunities, educational programming and industry trend information.  Moreover, we are committed to influencing and tracking those legislative affairs which affect our industry. 

 

We will continue to give back to our local community.  We are extremely proud of our relationship with the Marines, Sailors and their families of 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion.  We are entering our 8th year of supporting these fine men and women.  While 1stMSOB will remain our primary philanthropic initiative, we will also continue to support the HeadNorth Foundation, HomeAid San Diego and the Navy Seal Warfare Foundation. 

 

Our Developing Leaders Program has been a phenomenal success and is a powerful and important part of our chapter.   Our young leaders are extremely active in giving back to the community and coordinating their own educational and social programs.   If you are a commercial real estate professional under the age of 35, you need to be a part of the NAIOP Developing Leaders Program. 

 

In keeping with efforts already underway, we will continue to elevate our cross-sector networking and educational opportunities through events that introduce our members to leaders from defense, tourism, healthcare, government, technology and other industry sectors important to San Diego’s economy and civic life.

 

I hope you’ll join me in actively supporting and promoting our NAIOP San Diego agenda for 2014.   The coming year will be filled with unique opportunities for NAIOP members to expand their networking, philanthropic, legislative and educational pursuits and reap the benefits that NAIOP membership has to offer.
