· My Name: Brandon A. Smith, LEED AP

· What I do: Principal and Founding owner of BASmith Design Associates. Aside from managing the day to day operations of the company as well as developing relationships that are of benefit to the company, I fulfill the role of senior designer and project manager, providing spaceplanning and architectural interior design to retail, commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects.

· What we do: BASmith Design Associates is a full service multi-discipline commercial interior design firm specializing in the function, economical solutions to commercial, industrial, office, and retail clients. Our projects run the gamut from large scale corporate office space, food service and restaurant work, industrial/warehouse buildings, and site redevelopment. Since 2004 we've had the privilege of working with clients both here in San Diego, throughout Southern California, through the East Coast and internationally. Of recent, we've implemented sustainability and green economics into our designs and as a result are completing several high density data processing centers through the western seaboard. The newest addition to our family is the development of our residential sector focusing on multi-family properties, providing services ranging from computer generations, pre-occupant remodeling, and model staging.

· Why I am an NAIOP member: Over the past few years, I've looked for groups that I could feel like a part of the Group without being chastised for being the Vendor. As a result, I've been very reluctant to join permanently any one group. However, my experience with NAIOP's events and the relationships garnered whether as a direct or indirect result, have proven substantial in my career. Although having access to many facets of the real estate industry is especially important, it has become the personal relationships that have solidified my decision to become a NAIOP member.

· Proudest Moment: After six years as an independent, there are moments which make you think that the end is near. I'd have to say that the proudest of those moments came upon the six year anniversary of the firm that I founded. Every year is a blessing and remains my biggest accomplishment!

· Favorite Hobby : Hobby? In this economy? Lately my partner and I have focused heavily on making and taking time for travel... be it a short weekend in Napa or to Santa Barbara or to our most recent destinations, Paris and London.
